From the time of our founding, Alpha Delta Pi has believed in the importance of giving back to our community. A dedication to philanthropy guides our members to spend time in the service of those who need it most. Our international organization’s commitment to Ronald McDonald House Charities has led to the donation of over $15,000,000 over the course of our partnership. More than 350 Ronald McDonald Houses in 64 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility.
Alpha Delta Pi is continually volunteering and fundraising around the community to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charity and Alpha Delta Pi Foundation. The women of the Zeta Theta Chapter organize and participate in many events, including baking and selling cookies, holding food fundraisers, sports tournaments, and online fundraisers! Our women also raise money and support by tabling on campus during the year to raise awareness about RMHC and ADPi.
We are also proud to be partnered with The Max Gruver Foundation and Sigma Chi Fraternity to raise awareness, share Max’s story, and provide hazing prevention education on college campuses worldwide. We strive to create change with this partnership as we pledge to “#StopTheHazing”. You can read more about our partnership with the foundation here: https://www.maxgruverfoundation.com/sororities
Zeta Theta is lucky enough to have two Ronald McDonald Houses to closely work and participate with throughout the year! Through our partnership with the Springfield and Peoria locations, our women are able to volunteer hands-on and cook for families staying at the house. We also collect thousands of pop tabs each semester which are then donated to RMHC to assist in paying necessary bills. We are so grateful for all the opportunities that RMHC provides us with and we’re so happy to be able to make a positive difference.
ADPi is also very involved in participating and supporting other sororities and fraternities events on campus. We believe that helping other organizations helps strengthen our ISU community and shows our support for other chapter’s philanthropies. Another way the women of Zeta Theta strengthen the community is through our volunteer work! We have completed over 1,500 hours of volunteer work in and around the community including throwing a Valentine’s party for a local nursing home, helping the Normal Park District with their annual Halloween haunted trail, helping run movies at the movie theater, and volunteering at food pantries.
