Illinois State University
Alpha Delta Pi is proud to be the first secret society exclusively for women. Founded on May 15, 1851, at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia, our sorority is rich with tradition and sisterhood. Alpha Delta Pi sisters strive for excellence in philanthropy, academic performance, and campus leadership. In keeping with our motto, We Live for Each Other, our members have found a place for support, shared values, and personal development. Opportunities abound for the sisters of Alpha Delta Pi, and we look forward to sharing them with you.
Welcome to the website of the Zeta Theta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at Illinois State University! We are proud to be members of the first secret society for women, committed to our core values of scholarship, leadership, sisterhood, and service. Our founders recognized the importance of women coming together for personal development and improvement and we still hold strong to that standard today.
The Zeta Theta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at ISU was established in 1973. Over the past 50 years, our chapter has grown to more than 130 current collegiate members and hundreds of alumnae. We currently call the big white house on Vernon Ave home. Our members have had the opportunity to live in our house which was first used in the early ’80s and has been lived in ever since.
Our philanthropy Ronald McDonald House Charities has brought us into a partnership with RMHC of Central Illinois in Springfield as well as the newly opened Peoria location. We are so grateful to have two different locations so close to our campus! Our women frequently visit both the Springfield and Peoria locations, where we provide meals for the families, write letters, and interact with the families staying there. Throughout the school year, we host several philanthropy events to support this amazing cause. Checkout our philanthropy page to learn more about why we are so proud to serve this amazing cause!
Being a part of ADPi, our chapter members have created friendships that will last them a lifetime. To us, sisterhood is empowering each other, knowing that you’ll always have someone there for you, a home away from home, and knowing that you will always be accepted for who you are. Our sorority was founded on the spirit of friendship, and that still stands true today!
