At Alpha Delta Pi, we are a sisterhood of friends, a family of individuals, and a home away from home. We embrace every woman's uniqueness, we encourage and support each other's goals and dreams, and we value character above all else. Founded in 1851 at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia, Alpha Delta Pi was the first secret society for women.

Welcome!

My name is Jen Hayes and I am the President of the Zeta Theta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at Illinois State University. I joined as a freshman in college and could not begin to imagine the amazing women that I would get to meet and the amount of personal growth that I have been able to experience.

Alpha Delta Pi’s motto of “We Live For Each Other” has shaped the way that my college experience has been. Seeing our member’s dedication to our philanthropy, sisterhood, and values remind me each day why I joined this chapter, and more importantly, why I continue to stay. With the support from my sisters, in Zeta Theta, and all of the women of Alpha Delta Pi across the country, I have been able to create life-long friendships that I could not begin to imagine was possible before joining.

Being a member of Alpha Delta Pi has given my sisters and I countless opportunities to push to be better in all areas of our lives: academics, building leadership skills, enhancing personal relationships, and creating connections relating to your future career. The women I have met have seen the best of me, and even the worst of me, and chose to stay by my side and offer innumerable amounts of support, which to me, is the purest form of sisterhood you can find.

With all of our dances, social events, study dates at the library, sisterhoods, philanthropy fundraisers, and more, the phrase “Be the First” never leaves a sister of Alpha Delta Pi’s mind. Whether that means “be the first to attend college in your family” or “be the first to introduce yourself to our new member”, our values are instilled in our lifestyles and push us to go above and beyond.

I knew I found my forever home when I entered the doors of the Alpha Delta Pi house, and since joining as a freshman, my life has truly changed for the better. There is nothing more that I can wish for someone than to feel the unconditional love and acceptance that this chapter has provided me.
